Eastern Front Enforcers | Panzer IV F in Hungarian Service
During the Second World War, the Germans could not do much to improve the heavy industries of their allies. In Europe, besides the Italians, only the Hungarians managed to put resources and time into actual tank production, albeit in limited scope. They did so under the leadership of Admiral Miklós Horthy, who aligned Hungary with Nazi Germany, partially motivated by Hungary's territorial ambitions. Despite having a limited pool of armored vehicles, the Hungarians managed to achieve success against neighbouring nations such as Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia. Things turned out differently after the invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941. As the invasion progressed, the Hungarian armored units suffered extremely heavy losses and, by the end of the year, nearly all AFVs were lost. As the Germans...

Italy's License, Hungary's Heroics | Re.2000 in Hungarian service
During the late 1930s, Hungary attempted to modernize its Air Force. While the Military recognized the need for more effective and modern aircraft designs, the limited local industrial capacity and lack of production capabilities made it difficult to acquire the necessary equipment in a timely and efficient manner. Partnering with Italy, with whom the Hungarians already had a good working relationship, seemed like a logical solution. The Reggiane Re.2000 fighter appeared to meet Hungary's requirements, and a subsequent order for 70 such aircraft was placed, along with a license for domestic production.
However, delays and difficulties with production meant that the Re.2000 was not available in large numbers until later in the war, by which time it was outdated by newer aircraft designs.

Tigers in Hungarian Service | Big Magyar Cats
During WWII, Hungary was one of Germany’s allies with a significant domestic production of armored vehicles. While these locally produced vehicles were fine by the standards of the early war, unfortunately for the Hungarians, by the time these were fielded in larger numbers, they were already obsolete. To bolster their ally’s firepower, during the war, the Germans supplied the Hungarians with a selection of armored vehicles, including a small number of the famed Tiger tanks in 1944.

While these locally produced vehicles were fine by the standards of the early war, unfortunately for the Hungarians, by the time they were fielded in larger numbers, they were already obsolete. To bolster their ally’s firepower, in 1942, the Germans supplied the Hungarians with a selection of armored vehicles, including over 100 Panzer 38(t) tanks.

The Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency, together with the Hungarian Service & Outsourcing Association envisaged creating an annually published, multi-dimensional overview of the Hungarian business services sector’s current state-of-play and prospective forecast, presenting key industry trends and tendencies. We also had a common goal to raise awareness of both the sector’s and Hungary’s potential. This cooperation resulted in a comprehensive survey of the Business Services Sector in Hungary.
